Baby Robin's First Day Out

.

First day out of the nest for this baby robin!

He's just a little fella' and keeps mom Dad hopping as she
he follows him around everywhere he ventures.
According to Kenn Kaufman's Lives of North American Birds,
Dad takes care of the fledglings while Mom
builds a new nest for the next brood!
And, Robins are fruit eaters!  No wonder they devour the
jellies and jams I leave out!

Hi all, thanks for stopping by. He is a sweet little fellow. It will be fun to watch him grow. Mama keeps him close by and he will stay until he is full grown. They nest in the trees circling my rock garden every year! ~karen

Hi Just like to say many thanks for stopping by my Blog and leaving a nice comment. At least it has led me to your blog which I find lovely,Cape Breton seem a beautiful place of peace and tranquility away from all the noise of everyday life, and a great place to observe nature.
The Robin Fledgling is a super image and its a great time to see all the new life arriving.
Thanks for sharing and I will visit from time to time.

Monts, thanks so much! I, in turn, enjoyed your blog and will also be checking in every once in awhile to see what's new!

That's so interesting about the dads being the caregivers, Karen! You'd think dad would build the nest and mom would provide the food!
