Typically Cape Breton

View from my front deck

taken at the end of a beautiful day,
August, 2010.

The eagle sitting on the spit
to the left of the little gray boat
is a regular visitor.

The little gray boat is used by an older gentleman
to fish for eels during the summer months.

In the fall, after nesting season is over,
he is often accompanied by his mate,
and even a few juvies.

Not the man, the eagle.

I would enjoy that scene very well.I enjoy the eagles over the winter months living close to the Missouri River. They leave in the next month and trade off turf with turkey vultures.

Think I like the idea of the man with his mate and a few juvvies better!!!! :-)
Wish I had a deck never mind the view!

What a nice serene view. I've been eagle watching lately.

Oh what a picture of pure serenity. I can echo the sentiments of previous posters. Can I swap my view for yours please Karen. :)

Love your view! We are going to miss our lake view, but our next stop is going to be great. Hope you're having a good weekend.

Hi Karen...There is something I can't describe when I hear the name Cape Breton, that brings this kind of image to mind!!
Perhaps it has something to do with growing up near the border in Northern Maine and we where only able to get only Canadian radio and TV channels ..anyway..lol Loved the Jigs and reels music!!

Lovely photo and what's the chance for an Eagle ..great!!

Hi Karen. Super view to wake up too but I guess it may look a little different at the moment.

If I ever get rich, I am going to have a scene like this from my deck. Great view.
